The Project:
The project is research will be performed at Michigan Technological University (USA). My task as professor there is collecting data and results of the research project to be delivered to the investor who will finance the research project. The investor who finances this research project will be unique owner of the research's results and have all rights for production of these steel spare parts in worldwide.
Carbon steel with low percents of chromium and nickel has been used for casting low cost machinery spare parts of construction equipments. Current spare parts have been manufactured from austenitic manganese steel. In addition the high cost of casting austenitic manganese steel, the handling of this material during heat treatment is very difficult because the quenching by water is vigorous and it may affect cracking in the metal matrix. Manufacturing these spare parts from low alloying carbon steel after nontraditional heat treatment regime will be revolutionary project because the cost can be deduced to the half. Hundreds thousands tons of machinery spare parts are used worldwide per year.
