if i was making a candle holder, i would make a small replica of a bird cage?

you could get a round flat piece of metal, which you would place the candle on (just bigger than the circle of a cup...(you could even use the bottom of a can for that btw...

you could then make a hoop of wire the same size...which you would place ontop and add a joint so it could open so you can put your candle inside...

then, before you join the loop to the metal circle you could get many pieces of thin wire and soulder them to the hoop around the egde..and fold them up into a bird cage style...twist at the top?

if i was doing it i would at the end spray it white and then through the wires weave in some flowers or something..vines maybe? just for effect?
