I read the other day in el País -the leading Spanish newspaper- that less than 23% of Spanish school buses have seats with safety belts. An astonishing and unacceptable statistics for the future . What are the national and local Governments waiting for in order to enforcement of laws and regulations.
It said that the law permits buses to be as old as 16 years, but that does not preclude enforcement of adapting old buses to seat belt regulation.
I believe we need to collect signatures from the public to achieve 100% of safety belts seats for the 600.000 school students that wait every morning for a school bus, and define a deadline for compliance.
Most of school buses are privately owned concessions.
Tolerance here should be zero.
I also invite you to look into your respective countries to seee if the situation is not fully covered i.e. 100 % safety belt seats for school transport and take action.

Wow.....you seem to be asking the world...compared to indian standards... We have a political chain of schools called Delhi Public Schools (around 100 of them with over 5000 students in each school) which charge the students a bomb, but when it comes to transportation they conveniently outsource it to hoodlums who buy delapitated buses from scrapyards of public transport departments ( used life of 100 man years plus) all painted yellow. The parents are shit scared of the management as they can kick the child out if anybody complains . No matter what their education is they are crackpots sending their children in these monstrous buses which need to be repaired on daily basis. WE BELEIVE IN GOD AND HOPE NOTHING HAPPENS TO THE CHILDREN AND SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS TO THE CORRUPT MANAGEMENT,POLITCAL FRANCHISEES,AND PRINCIPALS AND TEACHERS.
