Cuando tienes una de esas mesas de comedor bonitas, con un pie que casi es una escultura, y tapa de cristal para que el pie luzca, siempre es una pena poner un mantel que oculta la mesa. Pero los mantelitos individuales no son una opción, porque cualquier cosa que pueda salirse de ellos puede rayar el cristal.

Por eso me gustaría poder ir a ZARA Home o a IKEA, y comprar un mantel que fuera transparente y bonito a la vez. Que no fuera un plástico sin más. Que estuviera hecho de un material que además de proteger la mesa se adaptara bien a ella, sin hacer arrugas como los hules gruesos. Encima de este tipo de mantel transparente, podrían ponerse o no mantelitos individuales, caminos de mesa...

When you have one of those beautiful dining tables, with a base that is almost a sculpture, and a glass top so that base can be seen, it is always a pity to cover it with a tablecloth that hides the table. But individual place mats are not an option, since anything that is placed outside of them can scratch the glass.
That is why I would like to go to Zara Home or IKEA and buy a tablecloth that would be transparent as well as pretty. Not just a sheer piece of plastic. Maybe made of a material that on top of protecting the table would fit perfectly over it, with no wrinkles, like those ugly oil cloths. On top of such a tablecloth you could, or not, use place mats, or other cloth pieces…
