(78329) Customizeable restrictions for ESRB/PEGI ratings for games

Some people (or their children) may want to play video games without the experience of excessive blood and gore, sexual themes, excessive or suggestive language or other offensive content. People may see a video game they enjoy for its storyboard but decide not to play it (or allow their children to play it) because of it has the dreaded ESRB/PEGI rating of M/18.

If game developers allowed the the consumers to choose the ESRB/PEGI rating upon starting a new game, much like the method of choosing the difficulty, the game(s) might have a slightly higher overall sales. Also, having a disk specific code inside the game case that unlocks the rating to its highest potential, could be a way to allow parents to control the exposure of violence and other offensive content for their children.
