In a day and age where footballers now are being traded far and above their relative worth I have devised a scheme wherby football will still continue to provide pleasure without the need for greed. Purely and simply it is a matter of wage scale . Each league (and I am talking about the English league as an example) has a entry level and a ceiling level . The entry levl could be taken as the Conference League . Each team in the Conference league has a Maximum expenditure allocated each season . The expenditure is regulated by FIFA who oversee tranfer fees , ticket prices , sponsership etc etc . Every league has an increased expenditure allowing for motivation to progress up the various leagues . Teams may still be able to participate in cups and Champions leagues etc but moneys gained will be for development of grounds and poorer surrounding areas . Players will have capped fees ( for example £50,000 per week) and their wages or bonuses are performance related . Transfers from other countries would still take place but players transferring to England would do so because they have a passion to play in the English league and not greed for the massive ammounts of money killing the English game . Therefore a set fee would eradicate greed , poverty and nurture home grown players in one foul swoop . Plus it would cut down on billionaire `fantasy football` . Not all cons of this idea have been ironed out but I believe that money is to blame for our poor performances in recent years in English football !!!
