Many of the species of domesticated or farmed animals used by people since time immemorial, and who's path of evolution may mirror our own, and indeed in the case of the dog, be an integral part of ours, have been bred to a point where they can longer exist independently of humans, and may even be affecting our own quality of life as a result of their own.I speak here of the industrially farmed cows, who have been selectively bred over the ages to have larger udders in order to satisfy our ev...

I would say both fuel cell and biodiesel. The other two even though they seem quite promising their dependance on weather makes them unfavorable. To gather solar energy is not necessary to have sunshine, even on a cloudy day you can get power because it comes from light. In a sunny day more energy can be produced but if the temperature is high as well the efficiency of the solar collectors drops way too much. If it wasn't the case areas like African deserts could produce all the energy of the...

In considering How to minimise the damage caused by earthquakes, I wonder if a solution would be to drive long hollow poles of some description into the ground in concentric circles around a city, town, village, and individual houses or blocks respectively spaced at regular intervals and concentrated at key locations most likely to be affected by seismic activity. These poles would absorb and disrupt the energy transmitted through the ground, or maybe even just alter the frequency of the tremo...

Recession InsuranceAfter the recent (and apparently ongoing) global economic 'recession', I wondered if any business, bank, or institution had considered the possibility of taking out an insurance policy against a recession, that would enable them to stay in business at a desired capacity throughout the harder times until more favourable conditions prevail once again, without having to make extensive cuts in the scale of their operation or workforce.I have been surprised to find, after some b...

After admitedly cursory research, I think I have an idea for how to help reduce the effects of certain types of tsunami. Some deep sea eathquakes caused by subduction of tectonic plates release energy that builds a wave that does the damage when it reaches landfallSo if you could absorb the energy, or even some of it at source, the smaller the wave, the less damage it does.I think turning this massive energy into work, or even just disrupting and diffusing it might be possible by palcing...

This is a service that would be provided online. Small businesses like dentists or hairdressers could subscribe to this service to allow their customers to book appointments online. This would reduce the need for receptionists.

Fish are able to breathe underwater by seperating the oxygen they need from the water through their gills by swimming.Shouldn't it be possible to make a system that does this for humans? This would eliminate the need for compressed air tanks, and allow you to stay underwater indeffinately.
