I think there should be a social networking site for the bar trade, I am a team leader in a nightclub and we have a lot of staff consistantly phoning in sick or wanting to have the night off or whatever, the site would be similar to facebook, faceparty etc...where the members can sign up edit there profile CV where they have worked etc.......bar experience they have, and if we are short staffed we could contact the individual, the only problems that would be raised would be training, hea...

Why do birds sing? Those who study bird vocalisations have distinguished different types of bird sounds, to call and communicate to other birds such things as territorial demarcation, sexual status and availability for mating, alarm, and perhaps other things too such as the discovery of a food source etc... the things you would expect any basic form of communication to express. But the apparently random and spontaneous songs they sing remain largely a mystery. As charming and joyful as these so...

Idea translated: nº 3716 of ideator el_villeOn most occasions when we light a match, we only need it to be lit for a second (turn on a heater, light a candle, gas oven, etc), which means we throw the match away mostly unused. This is insignificant when considering a single match, but if we were to picture the millions of matches that end up in this way, the amount of wood we are squandering is unimaginable. Now, a match that can be lit on either end could be used twice, halving the amoun...

The current crisis for honey bees threatens the broader health of our environment.Honey bees are needed for the polination of plant species, and the large industry that keeps bees and intensively farms them and transports them to farms to polinate crops has seen a catastrophic decline in their bee populations recently.Although one reason given is the veroa mite attacking the bees, among other reasons, one suggestion is the stress the bees are subject to because of the transport and lack of bi...

Last November 2009 I was in London to receive an award "Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice" at the House of Commons. I was waiting at one of the tube stations to proceed towards East ham. In few minutes I was greeted by a huge air surge and it was so chill that i moved away from the platform. Then i realised that the train is entering the platform. The air in the tunnel is pushed forward by the moving train. This wind energy can be harvested in a simple way acro...

Idea translated: nº 15040 of ideator El último Xel'Naga: mira "Mis favoritos"Intelligent PatentsThey say “necessity is the mother of invention”. Now that we are going through a period of financial crisis, obtaining a patent for innovations in industrial products and processes should be made easier. The industrial sector is also in crisis due to the general financial crisis, and patents are extremely expensive, especially for small and medium-sized companies. This un...

I find that if i want to paint landscapes or nature-orientated paintings, that if i make the canvas and frame myself, out of natural materials it enhances the idea and feeling of the painting. to do this I find slim, sturdy branches, and bind them into a rectangular frame using vine, i then either use recycled cloth from clothes, used paper or cardboard or old canvases. I make sure to clean everything so that ther is no chance of the painting rotting from contamination.i then use charco...
