It would be great to create a website where everybody could include photos of places, villages, landscapes etc. that are damaged, have been neglected, are being destroyed etc. The photos could be accompanied by an explanation of what has happened or is happening to that particular place, and people could propose solutions to improve that particular place.
Multi purpose umbrella. Use open umbrellas upside down to collect water from terraces when raining. Produce industrially such umbrellas with special legs to support themselves when full of rain water. Make it with plastic/organic textile, cheap and resistant material. Everybody knows those gadgets you put in your belt which make use of you movements while walking to tell you the distance you have walked. Everybody also knows watches who take your movement energy to work. Why not making a gadget to charge batteries, mobile phones, PDAs, just by using your movements while walking?

Why not get governments to fund the development of a free car share database that can be given to companies to host on their intranets. This will encourage car sharing within locations and encourage people who don't know each other to meet up, share journeys and possibly help to disseminate ideas within the organisation.
