I have an idea I share a problem

Twitter Connect ("Sign in with Twitter") and “#ishareideas”

What is Twitter Connect?
Twitter Connect is a functionality that allows you to connect to ideas4all using your Twitter account.

What is “ishareideas”?
At ideas4all, we want to stay connected to you- any time, any place, because you never know when or where you'll have an idea. With “#ishareideas” you can send your ideas to ideas4all using your Twitter account.

Ideas sent through Twitter are published automatically in your ideas4all account as a new idea. But keep in mind that, when you send your ideas through Twitter, you will be allowed to use a maximum of 140 characters, meaning that once you have published your idea, you might want to enter your ideas4all account and edit your idea, adding more text, pictures, links, categories, tags… complete the idea, so to speak, so that you are not left with merely two lines of text, that may be insufficient to convey your idea.

Your idea will automatically be registered in a new category, called Twitter Ideas. This is a secondary category, meaning you will still be choosing the main category in which you want to classify your idea.

How do I activate my Twitter Connect and use “ishareideas”?
It's simple, just follow these 3 steps:

1.    First, you must be registered both in Twitter and ideas4all.

You can sign-up for Twitter here, and for ideas4all here.

And if you haven't signed up in ideas4all yet, but send an idea through Twitter, we'll give you an instant link from which to register in ideas4all.

2.    Once you have an account in both websites, you will need to activate “Twitter connect” by clicking on “T Connect” on the top of the ideas4all homepage. You can also enter “My Profile”, in the Personal tab, and click on the link at the bottom of the screen to activate your Twitter connection. This will connect both your accounts, and your profiles will have been verified.

3.    That's it! Now you can send ideas through Twitter, by including the hashtag  #ishareideas in your text. Your idea will be registered in your ideas4all account.

The ideas you send from Twitter may take up to 5 minutes to be published, and you will receive notification via e-mail.
Check your Spam folder.

Here is an example of the text for an idea sent via Twitter:

“System to collect rainwater from the roof and use it to water the garden #ishareideas”

It is very important that you remember Twitter messages may contain a maximum of 140 characters, including the hashtag, which is why we recommend that, once you have sent your idea, you enter ideas4all at a later time to complete the idea, add more text, pictures, links, categories, tags, etc.

How can I send my idea?
All you need to do is send your idea from your Twitter account in a message with 140 characters, including the hashtag #ishareideas.

Here is another example of a text for an idea sent via Twitter:

“SMS warning for subway delays #ishareideas”

Must I include the hashtag # ishareideas in the idea?
It is absolutely indispensable that you include the hashtag in ideas sent through Twitter. In other words, if you do not include the hashtag #ishareideas in your idea, it will be lost in the immense universe that is Twitter.

What happens to my idea once I've sent it through Twitter?
Once you have sent your idea through Twitter, it will automatically be published in your ideas4all profile under the category Twitter Ideas. It will also be stored in Twitter, where other users can read it and share it with their followers, meaning your idea will make it quite a long way.

Why can't I see my idea in ideas4all if I sent it through Twitter?
Your idea may not appear in your ideas4all profile for various reasons:

- You may have forgotten to activate Twitter Connect. To do so, click on “T Connect” at the top of the ideas4all homepage. You can also enter your “My Profile” page under the Personal tab in the menu bar, and activate your Twitter connection at the bottom of the screen. The accounts will thus be connected and your profiles verified.

- You may have sent your idea without the hashtag #ishareideas.

It is essential that you do both.

Will I have to edit my idea after sending it via Twitter?
We highly recommend that you edit your idea, making it as complete as possible, whenever you can. Twitter messages allow a maximum of 140 characters, including the hashtag #ishareideas, so we recommend that when you access your ideas4all account, you  edit your idea and add more text, pictures, links, categories, tags, etc.

This will prevent other users from mistaking your idea for Advertising, if they see only a link, or from reporting it as False because they don't quite understand the idea you are suggesting.

Can I remove my idea from the Twitter Ideas category?
When you publish your idea using Twitter, it is automatically stored in the secondary category Twitter Ideas, something which cannot be changed. What you can do is edit your idea and add it to a main category that describes its content, whichever you choose. You know... Art & Culture, Environment & Sustainability, Fashion, Beauty & Style... etc.
