When you are raising capital for your start up from Friends and Family we have learnt a lesson to share with you all;Do not specify the time limit because people will wait until the very last minute and while the time goes bye so does their enthusiasm for the project and their investment/commitment diminishes.
We tested both and the sense of urgency  is felt if the limit date is not given, and also because  their decision and bank deposit/transfer is closer to your enthusiastic presentation and sales pitch, usually in that case their average investment commitment is higher
