Saving Energy

Local Governments, switch off the Streetlights during the day. In the UK, if you look about, you will see each street has at least one street light left on all day. There is no reason for this, they are just random. Each High Pressure Sodium street lamp consumes typicaly 400watts. Some are 150watts, some 600, and some 1,000. One street light left on is the equivalent of an entire street of TV's and Hi-Fi's left on standby unnecessarily consuming electricity, wasting carbon.

Just switch them off, please. It shouldn't be hard.

There are photoelectric cells that detect daylight, if you modify the street lamps so that when the cells detect the daylight they switch off, your problem will be over.
