2 for the price of one. Water saving and Energy production. Small lake and dams covered with photovoltaic panels

Covering dams with a film of floating photovoltaic panels (solar cells) has 2 benefits on the one hand a flat surface to produce electricity and on the other preventing evaporation of water in the Dam, which is normally around 30% loss of  water yearly reservoirs

Brilliant idea Felix. Detailing further, one could start with dams already generating hydro energy, that way the necessary grid connectivity will be readily available.

I think it´s a good idea, but you need a very big film photovoltaic which is very expensive. I´ll go further, the material of the film fotovoltaic should be biodegradable. I give you my positive vote. I´d like you visit my ideas. Bye.

I believe that your 30% loss factor is based on the entire surface area of the reservoir, meaning that you would need to cover the entire water surface area with solar panels to prevent it some. This also prevents the recreational uses these lakes are used for and interferes with the ecology of the changes system - evaporation is important, also, birds eat fish.

Covering the actual dam in pvs seems like a fine idea and is just cost prohibited at this time.

i dont coonsider it technically gud 1
jus a student but repairing and maintenance wud be very hard plus it probably has other issues as well
and then, what about the marine life within?
they do require sun u know!
    think a bit people

to prevent the evaporation of water is it feasible to spend so much of economical resources
i mean the cells are bound by silver, wouldn't your idea cost a little too much ??
