I think that if the oil companies of this nation would uncap the idle, capped wells we have in this nation, we wouldn't have an energy problem. There are thousands of oil wells that were capped 40 and 50 years ago, sitting in places like Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee and other places. The oil companies bought 100 year leases from private individuals, drilled the wells, pumped test barrels, then capped the wells. And the people who own the land haven't seen a penny since. How can they say we don't have enough oil, or that we need to drill new wells?
