After many many hours of research on my family history and still running into brick walls of the way names were spelled back in the late 1800's and early 1900's and some people changing the spelling due to not being able to spell, it would be so nice if family's would keep an information sheet on immediate family members in a safe place to hand down to children and grandchildren. Also with that information sheet it would be great to keep medical information also, because today when a person becomes ill the first thing a doctor's office wants is medical information concerning family members such as grandparents, aunts and uncles. The hardest part of all this is when a child has been adopted. I ran into this when my family adopted two of my brothers. It wasn't until the youngest one married and had a child of his own. When his son was an infant he had health issues and the doctors wanted to know about illnesses in my adopted brothers family and we couldn't tell the doctor's anything because we knew nothing. My brother tried to have his adoption records unsealed but was unable to get this accomplished. It's so important to know these things today and in the future. There has got to be a way for all families to record this information. Besides that for those who has not tried it is really enjoyable and educational to trace your family history.
